The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Joy's line and my line seem to cross well looking at the birds Winston and Minerva have produced. I am going to put Charlie exclusively in with Taylor next week. I want to see what that will turn out.
When I know I am getting fertile eggs from Chester I have some light gals who I want to try him on an see what color of blue I get.
RR congrats. Really fun showing, except for washing them

HA! Don't you want to come help me? LOL All but a couple of the Julie girls (those are new pullets) laid nice fertile eggs last year without any butt trimming so I"m thinking I might go ahead and put one of the new young Joy roos in with them....I was planning on doing that anyway at the end of the month.......or maybe divide the one group into two seperate groups and see if that helps.
I really do not want to trim butts!

Hope you're having a better day today.

Sure I will come! When do you wanna do it?

Yes, I am doing much better today. I still haven't decided what I am going to do.

I was just kidding..... I know you'd come tho if I asked. I'm going to try a little switch up first and see what happens.

Well, I'm not kidding DH will not stand for holding hens while I trim butt feathers! So one of you two are welcome to travel eastward and help me out!! Fresh linens, good bed and great food fit for an ogre awaits you, plus my company of course.

If they aren't fertile already I will not be trimming butts!

Julie - Our birds indeed seem to make beautiful babies when crossed. I can't wait to see what Charlie & Taylor produce. I'm excited to see what Bluebell, Blueberry, & Bluebonnet create with Nigel !!

ROLMAO at Sandy's immature chickens !!

Hey Sandy - Give Jimmy a yell, I'm sure he'd come help you clip chicken butts

EweSheep - Welcome !! Always great to have a new fan of these English beauties join us !! There definitely are a lot of pictures - I, for one, tend to get carried away and post waaaaaaaaaay too many !! Glad you like the English Orps - I just think they are stunning.

I've been around the Orps, was an Orp member but got out of it. When I first saw those English Orps last year I believe, I thought what the heck DID we do to our Orpingtons???? Someone told me that our Orps of today was similar to UK Orps of yesterday and we have alot of ground to cover to make our American Orps to look like the English Orps.

There are GOOD American Orps and there are also GOOD English Orps but I think overall for consisency, size and texture, the English Orps certainly wow'ed me.
