The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Quote:
Your chicks are beautiful...can you tell me for reference...are the very pale ones future blues? I see one that is/will be black....so are the rest "splash's or will they just be a dark blue"?? I just hatched out last week Orpingtons (B/B/S) and wonder what they will be color wise in the future. I also just put 24 mix English/American Orpington eggs in the bator yesterday! Pretty excited.
I have read the earlier posts about these young, seemingly healthy roos dying....that is so sad. Is that something Orpington roos are prone to? Thanks for any input. I'm trying to learn more about this beautiful breed.

Wow, your starting out big:fl I made my own mold out a drawer and some cardboard boxes to start. Let me know the pigments work. I have never used them

Well. Found a PVC loaf mold on eBay for very reasonable ($30ish). If I had a drawer or even thought of being that creative I sure would have. As far as pigments go.... We'll see. I went with them because it was several colors for cheap. I just hated to spend a ton on colors not knowing if I'd even be successful at this soap making..... And you got have colors, right??!!

I am starting a thread on Family Life so we can talk about Soap. I have pictures of the soap I made yesterday. go take a look. That will clear this thread for chicken talk

Oh no!! Another thread to keep up with!

Thanks everyone for the condolences. I'm still a bit bummed this morning. I went down at daylight and everybody else is fine.

I did just move 10 eggs to the hatcher today, so hoping for a good hatch in a couple of days.

I'll read through the questions later today and try to answer the ones that I can. Gotta get caught up on work today - ugh.

Julie - I got a package from you yesterday

and you should be getting your eggs in a couple of days. I'm gathering up more to send you next week.
