The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Renie'sPeeps :

Chookchicks, Thank you so much for sharing those pictures.. sure did enjoy seeing them

My pleasure! They won't look half so nice after I've covered them in drool...I'm going to get a whole bag of frozen berries and another of corn...they'll be forced to love me. I'm taking a friend who has been resisting coming over to the dark side...she'll easily be converted by the overwhelming fluff.

*Breathe deeply, look closely at the fluff....hear the stilted bokking of the broody...you are getting very sleepy.*

*You will no longer resist having backyard chickens...you will join the Concerted Logistics United Chickeners of Kansas...otherwise known as CLUCK....when you awaken you won't remember this conversation...you will awaken when you hear the Ba-Gawk and I snap my fingers...SNAP!*

These girls are just massive... I don't think I was expecting them to be this big this fast. I have one cockerel that is coming up a week right behind them that is just as big and twice the size of his hatchmates.

Katy, I've been corresponding with ChooksChick's friend Marc (Radirevo) about his Diamond Jubilees and when we can expect them to be here in the States, I'm not sure whether or not he would want the information shared publicly but I can fill you in via PM.

Also, I'm #2 on his "list" of sorts to get my hands on some... when he told me I was second in line the my mind immediately thought, "Katy must have beat me to them!

Tricia, the chocs are bantams. Marc got a single large choc hen by accident, and the rest are bantam, but as you can see, the choc roos aren't much smaller than the black hens- and the black are large fowl. You'd have to shrink them to be the same size as American bantam Orps.

I'm just picturing all the little brown fluffy butts you'd have rolling around your place...what a dream!

So it would be totally easy to breed these guys to the LF standard...

Oh goodness... I just need to tell myself I only have room for one more color of Orpington...

I can't have Chocolate and Diamond Jubilee, or can I?
