Yep - I was giving Joy a hard time.... seriously you and I will look at it in the Spring. I need to bring in some more bantams at the moment as my hatch rate has been low.

This brings me to a new question...... This is my first round at hatching bantams... I admit... I typically buy chicks/starters. I wanted to try something different.... and it appears that after many talks with my lovely UK exporter.... the humidity on bantams needs to be lower - around 25-30%....instead of 40-45%.

As I mentioned in my PM I've hatched quite a bit of bantams and even Olandsk Dwarfs (which are very fragile) along side my large fowl. Same temperature/humidity etc. Has anyone else tried the lower humidity. I also know that there are many people are doing dry hatches, until lockdown..I've personally never tried it

All my eggs except one have hatched; until recently. And now that it is cold the cockerel isn't breeding the pullet.....

I am alot dryer than you are and have been doing the 40-45% humidity. Since your overall humidity outside of the incubator is high being in the location that you are in, I would imagine that trying the 30% might work better for you.

Are they developing or are they dying during incubation? And, are these imported eggs you are referring to or the ones laid on your farm?

I would be interested in some LF Silver Laced.....

I have never hatched my bantams at a lower hum. than the LF. I will even do mixed hatches at the same time and have never had a problem with the bantams hatching. In my opinion the 20's are too low to hatch and bantam orp. I don't even hatch my serama's that low. Are you having trouble incubating your bantams??
