Renie I can't say I have a secret at all. Just make sure the male has really good lacing. He should have good lacing on the chest and down the side loose feathering.

I have 2 little chocolate chicks that were hatched 2-18 and they are doing really good! I set a few chocolate eggs on the 23 and then some a few days back! I will let you guys know how the hatches go!

How many eggs do they lay per week and per year? These birds are really beautiful.

Well it's hard to say but in full swing one hen will lay 6 eggs a week, but right now 2 out of 4 of my hens are trying to set so they will go broody which is a trait I would like to keep in mine but just not right now, these are remarkable birds.
