The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

The mountains give me a sense of peace too and they are beautiful and I love them....but...there is something about the ocean. I am not afraid of water, but I don't get in the water at the beach at all. It's hard to explain what it is, but there is just something about the ocean that heals the soul - seriously. You should at least go see it once....there are six things/places that everybody needs to see once, i.e. 1) The Ocean, 2) The Mountains 3) The Statue of Liberty 4) The Grand Canyon 5) Yellowstone National Park 6) Glacier National Park. There are a few other things/places I want to see, but those are the 6 things that everybody needs to see in their lifetime.

Back to chickens - I'm glad they are doing well and that you are going to have a nice cockerel for your girls. We need updated pictures !!

That's how I feel in the mountains....or in the middle of our pasture.

I don't like the water so I'm not sure it would make me feel peaceful!!

BTW Joy.....the chicks are doing good. I see several little combs developing so I think I'll have a roo for my older girls from you. :)

I'd probably feel the same in the mountains too!

My mom & dad are at Yosemite today, and just been touring and seen the largest living thing on the planet, our Redwoods and Sequoias at our Nat'l parks. The 4,800 year ole General Grant tree

Hey, this is soooo funny. As I am reading this, about the soaps, the ad at the bottom of the page is for WitchesBrewSoaps.com .....

I love the rolling hills. Mountains make me dizzy. Oceans are relaxing to be near, BUT .... I am deathly afraid of water. I have been in the ocean, when I was young and DH was in the Marine Corps in California. I did ok by staying near shore.

Chicken talk .... I have to get some updated pictures of my crew. Maybe can try to do that today.

pictures.... is it time for pictures of my 4 little ones, or should I wait, oh yes I guess it was only 4 days ago....HA HA they are so cute though. Going to split up the run in the teenager coop and give them room to stretch their legs! I put them all on the grass yesterday (it has been very warm here) When I picked them up to go inside I noticed they had eaten the grass down to the little nubbies...My fiance won't be happy about that. I didn't think they could do that much damage at that age!

I saw Lemon Barred Orpington eggs on Bidbird not long ago.....2 sets of 6 eggs each sold for $146 and $165. I must say they were beautiful birds...

They have them too http://greenfirefarms.com/store/category/chickens/orpingtons/

So, if the eggs sold for that much, a juvenile pair from greenfire at $399 is not a bad price right? I'm sure it's much cheaper than importing.

Since I'm new to Greenfire, I assume they have a good reputation? I am SO tempted.

I would believe they have a great reputation as Bev Davis gave her flock to them (I hope what I'm saying is correct) I have a couple coronation sussex chicks coming from them at the end of the month

You could go up to the search button at the top of this page and type in Greenfire and get some opinions. Also, Paul Bradshaw (owner) is registered here on BYC. His ID is ..... stoneunhenged.
