I do too Katy. I never listen to much of anything besides her. Her new CD is being released on 11/16 (I think if you are a member of her community you have the opportunity to purchase it prior - which I will defintely be doing). The name of it is "The Wind that Shakes the Barley" You know what is funny...we went to see her in concert a few years back in Asheville, NC (She was fabulous), but turns out that Beth was at that same concert !! Didn't know each other then, but still...small world.

Have a good time on your vacation......I've never even seen the ocean!!

heehee, not the best picture, but I'm working with amateurs here!!

As soon as I got them out of the box and stuck them in the brooder, I showed them where the water was. Then as soon as I got them under the brooder light they all got heavy eyed and started weaving on their feet, that lasted about 2 minutes then they started running around checking things out. Definitely healthy and unscathed by they're extra long trip.

Ohhhhhh, they are just so sweet. I swear, they grew on that trip !! I'm so glad they made it. I'm totally going to relax now. No chicks in teh house, no chicks in route, no eggs in the bator. That alone is a vacation !! Adorable, adorable picture of your baby and the chick !! I have a feeling they are going to be spoiled (The chicks, not the kids - though they are probably already spoiled).

Katy - you need to see the ocean at least once !!! That is the one thing that I miss since we bought this old farm and moved. Before we moved here, when we lived in Wilmington, NC, we lived 3.4 miles from Wrightsville Beach. We are now about 3 hours from the ocean...not too far, but still WAY too far. There is something about the ocean that heals the soul...it really, really does.

That's how I feel in the mountains....or in the middle of our pasture.

I don't like the water so I'm not sure it would make me feel peaceful!!

BTW Joy.....the chicks are doing good. I see several little combs developing so I think I'll have a roo for my older girls from you. :)
