I have some pullets right now, there heads are so dark they almost look blue in the head area but it goes away slowly got a hen that was that way last year & now she is just as red headed as the rest, & far as breeding the dark birds, it all so depends on what color the rooster is you are breeding to her, a splash roo. would be a good choice to breed to a dark hen, alot of my pullets came dark this year but are getting lighter as they get older & the lacing is just beautiful, I will try to get some pic. of my young ones on here soon, got 24 eggs in the bator now, Like I relay need more but just could not stand to see them go to waste & its way to hot to ship eggs now, its hit 103 here last week. but i will have quite a few young roo. to part with soon only keeping 2 to breed with & Elvis ain't going any where.Yes, I would love to hear more.

Is all looks male, but this age you can wing sex them to, pointy wing tips roo, round is female.
