The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Yes, I would love to hear more.
I have some pullets right now, there heads are so dark they almost look blue in the head area but it goes away slowly got a hen that was that way last year & now she is just as red headed as the rest, & far as breeding the dark birds, it all so depends on what color the rooster is you are breeding to her, a splash roo. would be a good choice to breed to a dark hen, alot of my pullets came dark this year but are getting lighter as they get older & the lacing is just beautiful, I will try to get some pic. of my young ones on here soon, got 24 eggs in the bator now, Like I relay need more but just could not stand to see them go to waste & its way to hot to ship eggs now, its hit 103 here last week. but i will have quite a few young roo. to part with soon only keeping 2 to breed with & Elvis ain't going any where.

Darn heat! How much I wish those eggs were here!

That's a gorgeous bird!

Yes, I'm thinking it'll be September or even October before it's really safe to ship eggs, at least to here. Dang it!

Here are my newest Orps, I think the general consensus was all Roos. But I'm feeling like the one black looks more Pullet to me now, what do you all think? And, the blue has no fuzz on his butt, what is up with that?
ETA: They are 5 1/2 weeks.

That middle one does look like it could be a pullet. Just can't be sure yet. I know you can't go by the tails. I've had the longest tailed chick be a roo and the last to grow a tail end up a pullet. In fact, a really nice wide one at that.
