The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Are Black Orpingtons considered rare or difficult to find? I'm just getting my yard set up for chickens and want to get two black and two buff Orpington's but I'm not finding anything on Black Orpingtons or where I can buy such a small quantity. I'm in the Bay Area in California if that matters.
 
I have black orps and lots of others do as well, so I don't consider them rare. There are quite a few people with them, but a lot cross them with blues and don't breed them true. Maybe that's the challenge with finding some?

Here are the babies - 6 weeks old - each one has a ring, pink,red,blue,green

The mystery chick I named Sandy is looking like a Sandford to me, still not feathered in but today got a comb!

Greenie is my favorite, she's bigger than the other girls and look at her chest already developing.

Kathy I could'nt be more jealous. I can't believe that awesome comb and wattles. He is fine. Send him back to me.. I don't have a black with a comb like that. He is just to gorgeous. You better show me his photo when he hits a year old and 18 months.Wow is all i can say. He will be a stunner for sure when his tail matures.

Cheryl your pullet with the green band is my fav.
