The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

A couple of pictures from this past weekend, the babies aren't quite so small anymore! They were moved into the garage brooder last week and I'm working on a run that'll give them access to the outside world during the daytime. For now though I cart all 11 of them from the garage to the yard... it's a good thing my backyard isn't that far away!

I love how the red light makes them appear slightly purple!

The chicks are 5 weeks old today.
I'm going to work on getting some shots of the entire group outside this weekend, we'll see how that goes! I haven't done a head count to try and figure out my cockerel to pullet ratio, hopefully y'all will be able to help when I get the new pictures uploaded.

HOLY COW.....

I am telling you .... I have both American and English Orps, and those English Orps have the hugest feet and legs I have ever seen!

Kathy, I swear he is part ostrich. When he reaches up for something it looks like he's almost 2ft tall!
Hopefully he grows into that large foundation. He's my number one choice for cockerel that I want to keep.

Nope, not a Beth at all. Funny that you mention a light blue pullet though, I do have one that I've started calling Beth!

Joletabey was pleased.

I call him my little splashy right now, hopefully as he grows I'll think of something better.

Wow. This thread is why I love Orpingtons and is the only type of Orpington I love.

Thank you! I've never had orps that were so soft and fluffy before... I am totally enamored by them.
