Me to he was very nasty roo when i get ,he don't like female and kid's , but he love me and i love him, when i get him he attac me once and i go after him grab him , i sit down and pet , that was first and last time when he attac me , but he just don't accept my family.
When he out nobody in or out better than dog ,lol.
I never love the black orp until i get him, he also have 3 girlfriend from same line and 2 from Rennie

As an added bonus...we might , just might, get the US and English judges on the same page!!

We would pretty much be on the same page if their judges followed their own Standard. Isn't that what Batty is saying? What does the Orp Club say?
Unifying the APA SOP with another country , even a country of origin, has never been to popular with the Directors, but hey...they work for you.....talk to your Director about it. Then have the Brits change their Standard for the American Breeds so those are the same too. This is a part of this that people don't think about for some reason. The Europeans have taken liberties with our American breeds and vica versa and everyone except a few people on BYC are happy with the arrangement.

Changes to the APA SOP can occur if the reasons are sensible, the reason compelling and have the approval of the APA Board of Directors. The SOP Committee just makes suggestions and makes sure that we don't go backwards. On a personal level I don't see anything wrong with the current Orp Standard. Give my Committee the reasons you want it changed. matching another countries Standard has never been a good reason. The Standard for Orps has been the same for 100 years....why do you think that is? Did they make a mistake 100 years ago and no one has caught it until now?

I don't think people here realize that ideas on this site do not reflect the sentiments of the exhibition poultry people in general. It is easy to suggest these things online, but it is another matter to come up with a compelling reason for a change to the SOP.. 100 years without a change is saying something about the Orp description. None of the top breeders in the hey day of Orps ever suggested changes to the SOP and they had really different styles of birds......just as we do now. If you want to breed someting that does not fit the SOP that is your right, but we don't change the SOP to fit one groups type of bird. Everyone wants the Standard to describe the birds they have in their yard......this is nothing new. I can't remember how many times people have tried to change the SOP to fit their birds.

the world has gotten to be a small place..im sure it would be a long adventure getting the 2 on the same page..would sure be great.i think their opinions especially the older guys and gals would be amazing and might make people understand how it was meant to be.have clinics like dressage people do where the english judges come and judge and teach..you can find those clinics in just about every state...have our judges ect spend time just viewing birds and what could be corrected..i said from the beginning that i am an advocate for the american version, and also the english version..im telling you walt..you cant help but smile when you pick one of those english babies up..there is something very special there.

in the right hands a breeder like an artist work the palate and the canvas and create a masterpeice using the 2 versions.. can work out exactly what needs to be done..not handled correctly and by poor thought out plan could create a muddy mess.. maybe the stock to work in is low im not sure but 1 thing that never looked right to me is some american buffs more than seem to have something going wrong in the neck back area..maybe its my eyes but they look like a backward wedge, the point being in front, not so much that the breast isnt there..the back is too shallow or something..everyone preaches, the head the head, well what is going on with the wedge and how to correct that..it doesnt look right.. the head. if you get too focused on a head size , you might accidently set in twisted neck feathers wrong neck configuration..ect...if american breeders are very careful not to dwell on one featue, the ability to create the masterpeice is sure there..right now fads on both ends are something needs to be adressed and worked out too much cochin not good..it says so in their own handbooks..i posted a few pages back or maybe on other orp thread some pages from one of the old books,,look at the back nevk area and not only chest but clean through looks correct..now you see lots of that australorp type..is it making them too long? not quite sure..

he might be jelous of you larry..he is one of the most beautiful birds i have ever seen..hes a mans man, like a one man dog..thst sit and pet works like a charm..black orps are my favorite..big meaty birds tons of character..i have a big black, if i sit out and read, he comes and sits under the chair like a dog..craves attention..if i dont pet him a little while he will stand and stare at me with one eyeball...

last night we had tornadoes, called a code red meaning tornadoes on the ground..had to move pts quickly into middle of hospital and off top floors..all i could think of was, well, there goes my little chicken coop and everything in it..called husband who is contractor said you have 20 mins..get home now or you might not be able to..he did..tornado hit elmira to our west a dandy mini market with 50 people in it hit plus much more lt of damage tv out ect..it jumped up missed our town, set back down just to our east, mass damage..being regional trauma center, we were cent com for it all..not a lot hurt thank god..boy what a mess..my little chicken coop , not one bit of damage yet roof blew off the clemens center...chickens freaked out husband said..babies were inside caged befor i left..but black orps were out..husband said he just made it in the door when it hit..blk orps flew out and ran into the coop..they were hiding in the nest boxes..nothing you can do but just wait..he went out , moved them back to their own coop..its going to rain again , they are nervous and pacing fence thou no bad storms,coming..
