The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Ah ha it appears I was right - why do I doubt myself?! ha ha!

He is a lovely bird, rebel but far closer to what we in the UK would call a Blue due to his dark blue cape rather than a Splash cockerel.

This is a good link to have a look at showing the UK standard colours.

Hope this helps and that I haven't hurt your feelings.

Not at all, Just glad to see someone with experince from the UK with these birds, not realy woried about his color, just his type is what Im thinking about, he is going to be breed to a dark blue hen & a black hen to get the blue color to where I want it I hope, I am very pleased with his type as far as UK std. goes.

He is very nice indeed, and that colour over a Black? As we say here 'scrumptious'!!

As for type, he is a very English type. So many of the US ones can turn out rather light in the body. I like them big and blousy and he is that!

He is gorgeous isn't he?! Let's face it, a bit of variation amongst continents is a good thing, although I see him as a Blue, I see him as a Blue I want to get imported right here, right now, right in my flock lol

ukorps!

For those of you that got a "kick" out of Lola or LOL, here's the lucky chicken nugget. This hatch has blessed me with cinnamon gold chicken nuggets! I can't believe my luck!

This is Chip with Lola in the background. Chip is posing in every picture. Just like his father! He is a chip off the "ole Rock"

One more. This one, in the background, was the only gold headed one. Chip is in the foreground.

I am 1760 posts behind. I can't keep up with this thread.

Today is the first time I've had a chance to take new pics of the Orps. They sure have grown since the last time!

The girls are 75% English and I am not sure who they originally came from (any one on here know Noriko?), 'bantam' Chocolates are from Richard. The girls are still not laying and they were just starting to turn red when I got them in July. The boys were hatched mid February.

The dark blue is my favorite. She's not very photogenic, though.
