The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Thanks everyone! I spent way too long looking at everyone's birds last night, and all of yours are so pretty! The jubilees are pretty friendly I guess... For chickens. They mob me for treats... I think they might actually be kinda snobby. I have about 35 chickens, but the jubilee orps have their own separate group. I imagine that they hurl insults at my other "cheep" girls under their breath.

Dee I have felt that way before. I did turn the temps down in the bator and I am getting about half now..
Nellie I really like the the one in the lower pics . He is very striking in color and type.

We have having our first hard freeze warning of the season. This just happened six hrs ago. At first they just thought we would be about 31 degrees. I am still praying for the 31. We are going to have to go out and prep a few things. Hope is doesnt kill my Azaleas that are blooming. I have petunias that haven't died all year.

Julie, I'm dieing here. Needed to stop incubating, but when I look in the brooder and all I see are combs growing and wattles appearing...yikes! How much lower did you set the temperature? 1/2 degree one whole degree?

But, out of all these little chicklets there are two that I've been madly in love with as soon as they dried out. I know, I know, they all look the same to most, but honestly, these two little guys have stolen my heart.

One is camera shy! So I'm thinking pullet...If SHE ever lets me photograph her, I'll post her beautiful self. She hides under all the other ones. Def girl! (PLEASE).

Morning Dee, they are both 5 months old. They are still pretty immature......I haven't heard either crow yet

The one Lavender Cuckoo (crele) has been crowing since he was a couple months old....... Remember this picture

I turned it down so it is staying between 99.5 and 100.
I know what you mean bout favorites I have two right now. One is splash and one a blue. I want to take pics if I can get the time today. I can't beleive it is already after 2 pm here. I am just making a little lunch. Been working this morning and it took me longer than I thought it would. I have got to finish getting ready for Monday morning Surg. leaving everything done here. My BIL is better and has got out of the hospital. My son has the Flu though and that has added a few more responsibilities on DH and I. Praying for him and staying away from them all.

Can you believe it. I have something that blooms year round. It is green here though and the feild behind my house is so pretty and green with either rye or wheat

This morning I noticed a purple Iris had bloomed. We are supposed to be in the twenties tonite. First time this winter. It won't last though. We will be near 70 next week again. I am ready for Spring.
