The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Yours will probably be perfectly fine. Just saying about the one we hatched. She wasn't but a medium size either so you probably have a good chick.

K just got back a while ago just to discover half my goat herd were running up and down the road. Just got them back in but one of the young billys was frothing at the mouth and has what I think u call frothy bloat. I treated him with half a bottle of that yellow thick liquid bloat medicine and he seems somewhat better. Give me a few mins and I will take pics of the white chick. It seems normal and healthy so far but not as dry and fluffy as I thought it might be by now. I still gotta bring the new bator in too while I have help and load the pics to my PC but will post shortly.

K everyone this is the oddball white orp chick. The lighter is just for size comparison and looks like it injured the top of its beak in the bator while I was gone. Not exactly fluffed up all the way and for some reason my camera is not showing color true to life. The pillow it is on is actually orange for example but looks red for some reason in the photos. So what's everyone think.....white orp?

Cute chick- is white possible with blue X black? Not doubting anything- just wondering... Maybe if they had been working on whites with those birds I guess? A new color mutation is what I'm hoping for though- ha ha

Ok about the little yellow chick....I used the chicken calculator I don't know if it is completely accurate or not, but I found that if you cross a buff with a blue you get blue and black offspring...but if you take one blue and one black out of that breeding and breed them together...you wil get mostly blues and blacks...but though it shows it is very rare, you can get a ton of different colors and patterns...buff and white included...again I don't know if the calculator is accurate or not but that is just what it says.

Hmm looks like a buff, to me. My whites are white, but my sports are white with blue legs. Here look at my whites for comparison for you.
