The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Hi all! It's been quite a while since I have posted on here, but I have been following every day.
Now that the rush of springtime is over, I have a little more free time. I was able to take some photos yesterday and wanted to share some of my Silver Lace Orps. He is such a sweet boy and filling out nicely. Of course, I had to post a picture of one of his ladies that was taken a while back.

Hope y'all enjoy them this morning

wow..those are so nice
A little update for Deek. Here is Louis in his temporary pen. He gets to hang out supervised with the flock this weekend. Keep your fingers crossed that everyone behaves. Thanks for this lovely boy Deek!

Him posing for the other chickens.
Nice front on Louis! Beautiful bird
Quote: That is one funny looking chicks. I do not think I have ever seen that before.

Oh he is eating plenty trust me! Those little buggers are going to put me in the poorhouse! It is amazing how much feed they are going through. I swear he looks like he is wearing boots. He has a good personality though and he is one solid boy. He is way heavier than the ameraucanas and the poor silkies feel like a pile of feathers next to him. I think I will cook up some eggs for them tomorrow, give them a boost of protein. They didn't get a special treat today, yesterday they had blueberries and they thought that was the best thing ever! They also seem to love frozen peas.

The eggs were a big hit this morning. They haven't had eggs in a while.

Poor baby now has a bloody comb after a battle with a silkie. Silkie doesn't know what he is starting... In a few months he may not want to be on this guys bad side!

Oh but don't send the kids and the grandma out there with food! Then they might! HAHA kidding! The hens will but the boys just beg for it. To give to the hens. By the way if anyone remembers my story about my cockerel begging the children for their apple... I was talking to an hispanic man that was cutting the grass for the same neighbors the other day and he wasn't even eating anything and yep... here comes Prince Harry begging. I guess now he figures anyone on that side of the fence is there for treats. LOL

I love it when my Orpingtons follow people looking for food. The male is a bit cautious with strangers, but, he throws it to the wind with food.

My new male has a few eggs in the incubator that should be hatching any day now. I am so excited. The new Orpington coop is slow progressing. My DH has had a few side projects and weather has not been cooperating. It is going to be so beautiful. A very special brick coop. Should be the best looking coop on the planet.
