Faraday, your kids are so cute!

homeschool, love all you r orps. I had to laugh at Taji's expression. He's sooo serious lol.
It looks like you are having better weather than me. Its been raining buckets off and on the last 3 days. Its down right depressing. The chickens are hating it too lol.

I love this gal - and her model pose with wind blowing through her feathers.

Lacey looks like she may be
-Blizzard's offspring
or
- from Crystal bred by last year's black/lav split.

My gut says Blizzard.

Taj looks amazing! I wish his dad looked as good. (Of course Mr Wonderful's molting & has to keep 3 other males in line.) How's Blizzard doing? I recognized her butt fluff behind the laced cockerel. lol Is she still Taj's queen?

At first I thought Lacey might be Crystal' s, but she has the same shading in her wing tips that blizzard seems to have in her tail feathers. So now I'm leaning that bliz may be her mama.

How's Blizzard doing?

She is doing well. Still hangs out with her daughter and the little cockerel and Taj. Taj is trying to woo several ladies to his side currently. He's got at least one BB that likes him. Blackbeard is still in charge and Taj respects that and in return, Blackbeard pretty much leaves Taj alone and let's him have some girls of his own. Blizzard just keeps pretty quiet, no fuss. Winter is mostly the same way except she has a little mean side when dealing with the little cockerel.

Egg production is starting to gear up over here. Getting two serama eggs and about 5 orps eggs a day. The BB lavs are still trying to figure out where to actually lay them. I frequently find them spread all over the coop and a few inside the nest box. Hopefully they will figure it out soon as I'm getting quite a few cracked and also dirty eggs from trampling feet. They all keep dumping the shavings out of the nest boxes, which isn't helping one bit! At least the ccl has her favorite nest box now that she's figured it out. My one lone faithful spitzie has now semingly decided to finally go ahead and stop and rest.

Taking another comparison look at my roos tonight.

Lavender Orps:
Mr September cockerel (still shows potential)
vs
Mr Nice Guy (hatched in May or June)

Laced Orps:
Mr Sweetheart (Sept cockerel)
vs.
Mr Wonderful (mature roo - hatched June 2017) still molting

He's got a funny-looking chest with some new feathers growing in.

Mr Wonderful also has some funny-looking feathers currently. The crow collar doesn't help.

The September cockerels do not yet crow.

I also took a few pics of the Sept laced orp pullet. She's only got 2 tail feathers right now. (I think they're molting & growing in some adult feathers.)

Of course it was getting darker & snowing when I took these pics, so poor confused girl wanted to run back inside.

A new member asked me where Silver Pencilled Orpingtons could be obtained. I don't even know if they are in the States so thought I'd ask for them here. Are they in USA? and Who has them?

Thanks

They are silver laced Orpington. There are also gold laced as well. Several of us in this thread breed them. You can Google online and greenfire farms, Carolina rare chicks, feather lover farms and papas poultry all sell them. But they are expensive. You can also try eBay for hatching eggs, however it's risky on the quality of eggs and therefore birds you will get. You really need to do your research.
