So far I only see one for sure that is a cockerel, too early yet to tell on the others. They look all Blue and yes they can have white tips on their wings til they mature more and molt a few teenage feathers.

Cheryl, Kathyinmo got some great shipping boxes from somewhere - she shipped some Orp girls to me last spring. Ask her!

I think you only have one obvious boy, too, but I am no expert.

Cheryl - They are all blues. Definitely see one cockerel for sure. Another one looks like a cockerel, but not sure. Two look like girls. My best guess would be 2 cockerels and 2 pullets. They sure are cute

If you want to ship chickens, you have to use Horizon boxes. Here is the link. several places sell these boxes.

If you ship day-old chicks, you don't have to use the Horizon boxes, you use a chick box that a variety of places sell. Cutler SUpply sells day-old shipping boxes, as well as Horizon boxes. Here is a link to their shipping box page.

I am glad some of you are getting some cooler weather. It was 95 here today and is still in the 90's now this late in the evening. Looks like we have a week of hot weather. I may as well cont. enjoying the swimming pool. It is very dry here though. We haven't had rain in two weeks and with those temps it gets wilted down around here quick.
The Chickens are making it fine though. I have been letting them out the last two days in the late evening till dark. While I was gathering eggs this evening one of the young cockerels sent out a warning and all the girls got low. In a few min I saw a hawk. It flew to a distant tree and we sent up a warning shot and it flew off then to another piece of property.

Charlie is still molting along with all the hens except one blue who has finally got all her feathers back and look gorgeous.

I have got to clean pens and cull again and get ready for a new season of breeding. I am hoping to get some training pens built for my cockerels I want to show in Jan and Feb.
