The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Hey Jeremy.. The other chicken list I am on is doing the same thing. I think alot of folks are finishing up with the holidays

or playing with their new toys... lol

Kassandra, those are both fantastic names, but I thought you had named your Joy-chick Daphne. Just reinforcement that I am getting old and forgetful.

Jeremy, do you think it has to do with "no eggs = no chicks = no updates" ? Plus nobody wants to get out in the cold to take pictures. We are getting up to the upper 50's this weekend. I might just have to go swimming!

After I posted I wondered if that's what you were talking about. I think Daphne was a suggestion I made for someone else?? Maybe??

It's actually 60 here today!!! Knds cloudy and damp though. Rained last 2 days!!

It was so nice today (60) that I decided to take some pics.

Rhys is a 8 mos old roo that is 1/2 Winston and 1/4 Charlie. Frost is also 8 mos old and is 3/4 Charlie.

Here is what they looked like on December 5th.

Enjoy and please tell me what you think of them.

First up is Rhys.

tazcat70, I think I like Frost more, his lighter blue color has more of that contrast between hues that I really like on the males. They both look like BIG boys though.

I wish it were in the 60s here, I just checked out weather... it's only 44 here right now, with an expected low of 31 tonight!

ETA: Has anyone else checked out Greenfire Farm's latest import...

They are soo nice in so many ways... the only neg thing I see about them is the red feathers. I honestly don't know much about how the colors genetically factor in. Could be thye will sire you some very nice chicks bred to the right hens

Normally they would be culled out of a breeding program because of the red feathers, however, I am working on a project where the red feathers won't matter.
