The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

I bet they have a caretaker at the zoo like any other animal. You could call the zoo, ask for information or guest services then figure out who you need to speak to from there.

Maybe they have imported Buffs!

my neighbor had a giant buff orp that was big enough to check my pants pockets for treats. That was what made me like the orpingtons in the first place. big and friendly!! I dont know where they got that buff but she was big like the english birds. Then my friends got some bbs orps...well hec that did it! black and blue being the preferred colors around here I was sold. Then ... oh my! I found actual english type that were as big as that buff!! crap now I am hooked.. never have seen another buff as big as theirs was.

I KNOW!!! I'm soooo hooked! Everyone kept telling me that my hatchery Orps were nothing like the real thing. I understood this theoretically, but ever since I saw those Orps at the zoo, I've been on a mission!

I just sent an email to the zoo asking who I could contact for more information about them. I'm sooo excited!!!

Thanks for the input, guys!

I miss having baby Orps, they were so stinkin' cute and sweet.

Just as soon as my girls start giving me eggs, they will be going into the incubator, I really want a Splash pullet or 5 this year. LOL.

Tricia...THANKS!!! I'll be updating you as we go along...you should have seen one of them yesterday...taking a "dust" bath...LOL

Chester is growing up. He is not as dark as he looks in this picture. I took it at dusky dark. He now has his own large pen
