Kathy - I've got about 55 eggs in my bator right now - I have 3 Bluebell eggs that are fertile - 1 due to hatch on 03/11 and the other two due to hatch on 03/15. Those were "pre-haircut." I'm hoping the eggs I set "post-haircut" are fertile. Good luck and keep us posted.

Sandy congrATS ON THE new grandbaby coming. That is obviously the most important thing, You can hatch all year long but those little sweet darlings are just next to heaven. My youngest ones are coming for a visit next weekend and I am so excited to see them. I do have a few chicks hatched so they can play with them. They love chicks and feeding chickens an picking up eggs.

That is wonderful news! Congratulations on expecting grandbaby!

It is nice of the chickens to help you, by not tempting you with eggs.

Sorry guys I didn't take many pictures, I was so busy getting educated! But here is my biggest boy Magellan! He is about 9 or 10 months old.

He really is a very shiny green black, flash washed him out.

Was this one of the boys you originally got from Helen that was out of either Mine or Joys?
I love his type. Fantastic tail. Very nice chest. Great comb and wattles. He is completely Awesome.

That is one awesome looking rooster !! I hope I get as nice a black from Sirius and The O's !!

I have 1 little Bluebell egg in the hatcher and two more Bluebell eggs due to go in the hatcher 03/13. I tossed out 22 eggs last night (all pre-trim eggs) that were not fertile. I also set another round of about 23 or 24 eggs (I Have to count) last night. I have around 45 in the incubator that are all from after trimming them, so I'm hoping for decent fertility.

We have an EGG!!!

I resigned myself to waiting three more months for my little girls to give me an egg, but one of them decided to gift me today! They aren't even six months old.

Hmmmmm... Now, how long do I need to wait to start putting them in the incubator?

I got my first egg from one of my girls yesterday and another one today!

They were hatched at the end of August, so just shy of 7 months old. It confused me at first because their "pullet" eggs are as big as my BR eggs.
