Just wanted to share my 3 1/2 week old Orp chicks. The roo involved is the Splash boy from Julie that was sent out here to Washington last year. They are right at the really Dinosaur age, and not their prettiest, but I just love them. I THINK I have 7 blacks and 6 blues, and 7 pullets and 6 roos, but time will tell... Hope you enjoy the pics. I apologize cause there are so many of them.....couldnt help myself.

This one is of all of them trying to hide in the corner from the strange looking thing flashing at them.

Yes he is a Splash boy from Bama. I had 2 girls with him, the blue and a black, and then I had my black boy and a blue hen in the other pen. I was surprised myself that I didnt get any splash this time. But who knows maybe next time I will get mostly splash. Each girl has their own nest that they laid in and as I collected eggs 3 times a day, each time I found an egg I would mark who laid it. So I knew exactly which chick is out of which hen and which Roo. They are banded with the colors that I chose for each girl. I will put regular # bands on them once they grow out some more. They are growing so fast now that I have to change the ties at least once a week. I love these babies.....they are just the beginning for me.

Um, I think I might have to have that. I don't know what I'll do if I don't have some English Orps strolling around my yard this summer. Go into a decline, probably. Take to fainting spells and the vapors.

Thank you so much for posting this photo. The coloration is really interesting. It's amazing to realize how different the adult will look.
