The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

That's Alice, Joy.

I was outside yesterday evening with the girls and Neville, taking some pictures and I realized just how poofy their butts have become! Especially Alice and Elizabeth! I swear I heard a beeper going off as they backed away from the feeder...

The birds you're collecting from sound great! I want some Nigel babies to increase my Splash odds, I would love to have a Splash hen or two for some 100% Splash breeding. I do want a Black O baby though to help with breeding blues, that and I expect anything to come out of those eggs to be absolutely gorgeous no matter what!

Katy, true. Then where would we keep them?

Congrats on your babies all making it out okay, I have one final Blue Wheaten Ameraucana egg that has pipped and I hope will be hatched this afternoon.

Renie, thank you- Alice is one of my favorites.

What a beautiful Orpington....can't wait to hatch mine out this month!! I've had Buff's in the past and they are so sweet and calm. Plus...mine were prone to broodiness...hope that is the case with the April hatch outs!!
Happy April 1 BYC'ers!!

[email protected] :

Just wanted to share my 3 1/2 week old Orp chicks. The roo involved is the Splash boy from Julie that was sent out here to Washington last year. They are right at the really Dinosaur age, and not their prettiest, but I just love them. I THINK I have 7 blacks and 6 blues, and 7 pullets and 6 roos, but time will tell... Hope you enjoy the pics. I apologize cause there are so many of them.....couldnt help myself.

This one is of all of them trying to hide in the corner from the strange looking thing flashing at them.

Looking good, they do look like dinosaurs at this age lol. I am hatching some of your splash boys eggs this weekend. Hopefully I get girls and they can go in with Hoss. giant fluffy chickens! yes!
at what age do these really start to show lacing? ANYONE? I kind of notice of your not one of the regulars around here that its hard to get an answer or comment, but maybe some of you experienced peeps would like to chime in with what you know? I have a light blue and a dark blue, wonder how the different colors present as they grow out.

Personally, I think it is HILARIOUS! April Fool's Day is one of my family's favorite "holidays!"

I have been running all day and have only been able to sneak peeks on BYC today. I kept looking for words changed and stuff, but I couldn't see anything. I do have a head cold right now, and I figured I was just missing something. After I read the title and posted that it looked interesting, I thought, ok, I bet.......

Your shoe is untied! April Fools!
