I do not often feel like crying about a dead chicken, but today I just might. I just went out to do evening chores and found my beautiful blue roo from Joy dead in the coop. He was fine around noon when I was out there working in the pen next to his.
He is the only blue roo that I had from her. I have a spare black and a splash roo from her so I think I'll divide the 6 pullets up (3 black and 3 blue) between those boys.
Katy I am so sorry, Sometimes they have heart attacks.. I know that doesnt help. he was a pretty fella.
I am gone a few hrs making soap and Wow takes me 30 min. to catch up.
I am tired tonite. Not from making soap though. I did get all the birds switched to the right pens. All the chicks got switched to different pens. I am going to try and get photos tomorrow.
Ruth your boy is a really good blue color even if he has other issues. That is the color blue you want on your males as long as they have good lacing on the breast.
Katy, that's terrible, I don't see anything wrong with crying over your boy. I'm man enough to say a few tears fell from my eyes when I found out we had in fact lost Edmund. You become so attached to these birds that they do pull on your heartstrings, especially when you lose one you loved.
