The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

I think that is called, "egg in an egg." It is thought to be caused by overmating, I believe. The dark coloring is significant in that that means the chicks would have been chocolate. You should have hatched it, ya know.

Well, it sure tasted like chocolate anyway....

Vilonia is about an hour and a half north ofme but we have had tornado warnings all around and over us yesterday and today and will continue through the night!

Kathyinmo your flock is beautiful. They free range?? Have you ever lost one to a predator? Do you have a huge area fenced? Just curious...I only let my chickens free range years ago...lost two within the first month (we live in the woods) so I haven't done it since.
Buffbeauty I don't know where you live but figure it is south...all the storms that passed through Missouri, Tennessee, etc. are headed to Michigan today. Yesterday we got 3 1/2 inches of rain but not bad storms. However, this big front coming from the south looks wicked on the weather map.

Julie, not sure where in AL you are but hope this finds you safe in the AM and anyone else possible affected by the recent storms!! They are brutal and have only gotten worse.

I was worried last night, too, so I called. I talked to Julie last night at about 11:30 EST (10:30 her time). She was fine - no bad weather in her area. Her family that lives in other areas of Alabama were all okay too.
