Beth - your English girl is really starting to look nice. Please keep us updated.

Jeremy - Let me know how you like the movie - I loved it (well, most of it). I'm glad you're going to keep Neville around (He kicks butt in the last movie, BTW...LOL).

Renie - Gorgeous garden - and that little feller is a cutie - dirty face and all

I have never heard that broccoli leaves are poison. Will have to check into that. Interesting.

Some of you are very close to being barred from this section of the message board.
You know who you are.

Be very careful how you talk to others. I hope I am clear.

I've read it's the roots and seeds of Broccoli plants that are toxic to alot of farm animals.

I'll try to find the article. I think I was told once never to feed my house birds, cockatiels and parakeets broccoli either.

I have some great looking part english growing out, when I have a moment from this terrible heat wave other than making sure they have fresh cool water I'll take some pics! My second batch is full of cockerels!!!!!!!! Not happy at all.

I read alot, especially in the winter months. My favorite author is Michener. Just never got into the Potter series and wizards as of yet. My grandkids are at the age of just learning to read! lol

I have a big list somewhere of what chickens can and cannot eat. I think it is in my chicken book. I"ll dig it out later today and see what it says about broccoli.

The heat here has also been horrible. We did have a nice cooling down for a few days, and much less humidity. However, it is supposed to be back up to 100 starting Thursday. I am ready for fall - I can't take this ridiculous heat.

Would love to see pictures of your birds Sandy. You sound like me - my cockerel:pullet ratio is always horrible !!

Have you tried reading the HP series? I am an avid reader and will read anything. I started reading the HP series when it first came out to see what all the hoopla was about - I've read the entire series at least 20 times and probably will read it at least another 20 times before I die. I've been reading all my life and this is, hands down, the best series that I have ever read. I will really miss it.
