The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Hi from Ga. I believe Hink-jc is a moderator on BYC and a leading authority on Orpingtons. . You could ask him if he ever raised English style Orpingtons. I believe The Hen House in Florida to be very reputable breeders. They have an impeccable reputation.

Well, I'll tell ya one thing for sure..... IF I had 100% English Imported birds, chocolate or otherwise, there is no way I would be breeding them to hinkjc Orps or any other breeder's Orps that were not English imports. No offense intended to breeders or individuals; just my opinion. Joy has 100% imported English Orps for Blue, Black, and Splash. That is where I got my 100% English birds, and I LOVE THEM!

Just my opinion and how I plan to proceed with my imports.

Right, me too. I didn't think they had any English birds, partial or pure.

I agree that Jody and Charlie don't raise English birds....

Saying they have the English style is not the same as English birds. Looking at the pictures on the Hen House's website, I don't think they look English at all.

Those are the Buff Laced or White Laced Gold birds I was referring to, I'm not sure exactly what they are.

They deffinately have the blue gene.

They are White Laced Gold from Bob Follows.

Hi from Ga. After contacting Hinkjc I was informed they have both UK and American Birds . They breed to American standard but some of their English Birds that they sold to a customer in NY won very impressive awards in shows. Plus I know some of the birds from the Hen House in fl. have placed very high in Lake City. I try my best to give accurate information. Maybe some of you on here should try a little harder on your accuracy before you start insinuating about other peoples statements. Bill Vaughn

If they are winning at shows, then they must be APA SOP (American) type birds, not English type. They are 2 different types, and don't look at all alike, in my opinion. But, if that is what you want, "show winners," (AKA American type birds), then you very well could be happy with those birds to mate your Imports to.

IN MY OPINION.

Good luck with your project.
