The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Hey all, I just wanted to give a shout out to rebel yell here on BYC. Today I picked up a GORGEOUS cockerel from him, 100% English Orp direct from Joy, a product of her breeding program and decisions. I actually bought this guy earlier in the year, and then it got hot, and rebel yell was so kind as to keep him for me all summer long, while he just got prettier and bigger and more beautiful. He turned down $$ offers from people that came and saw him in person, offers for way more than I paid for the bird. When it came time to send him finally, when everyone's schedules lined up and the weather cooperated, by then, he had gotten bigger and cost more $ to ship, but rebel yell said he would pay the difference. Anyhow... he is a GREAT, STANDUP GUY, and 100% trustworthy, and has the most beautimus rooster that he sent and just arrived today. He is prettier, bigger, handsomer than I even thought, way back this spring when I bought him. Here' a pic of him getting a sip of water just out of the crate. (ducks messed up the water dish while I ran to the post office, lol. There WAS clean water in there when I left.) Anyhow... drumroll..... here he is! Thanks a million, rebel yell. I could not be happier with him than I am right now. YAY!!!!

I have a trio of jubilees now and another coming next week. Then another trio from another breeder in summer to diversify the line. Won't have chicks till February though...can't wait.

Who is the other breeder you're getting Jubes from? I know the birds you have now are from GF...

Kathy, she is beautiful. I'm pretty sure I have 2 Splash pullets growing out now.

Thank you! I can hardly wait to see her at 8 months. I hope you DO have 2 Splash pullets, too!

She will be simply divine at that age I'm sure!

This was the "creek" that runs along our property earlier... from the top of the wall (which is our property) to the creek bed is just about a 6 foot drop.

I shot this video with my phone. (Click the picture to view the photo.)

Mind you... my Orpington's pen is located on the second level of our backyard, if the water would have rose another 8 inches their run would have been flooded!
