I fully understand what you are saying. I really had to think about this. I will be praying that nothing happens to either of them. lol

This is my Buff Orpington hen, Penny. She is a is a rescued hen; found in a 4 x 4 pen with 15 other chickens. Our friend rescued her and soon realized she was partially blind in one eye so she wanted to find her a home that could provide her with extra love and care and attention. She loves cuddles and more importantly, visits from the "food lady"!

She was chicken of the week, wasn't she?!?! She's famous! It's wonderful that you're giving her a loving home. Does she have leg mites or is it just scarring from her former life?

Yes, she was chicken of the week! And yes, she is famous! LOL! I can't believe you noticed! And yes, she does have leg mites, I am treating it but those mites are nasty and persistent.

Just as a bit of eye candy, I thought I'd show you a few of the pics I took when I went on a field trip to Heirloom Orpingtons:

If it hadn't been storming and horrific, I'd have gotten a ton of photos, but I did get some.

I came home with a couple of birdies and I'm really looking forward to getting more!!

I want to live there. They have all these wonderful coops that are just like a chicken fairy tale, and huge runs with tons of room. Longhorn cattle and world class quarterhorses are everywhere you look, and I just stand with my mouth open every time I get there...thought I'd share a bit!

Alright Jeremy....if I can't win these choc project orps....I must find myself some great quality orps...need black and would luv splash....and I do have to admit I'm luvin the more compact look (shorter back) of the imported english orps...
Pm me if you might have something avail?
