Jean, I found some larger images online of the Harlequin colored bird that you mentioned a few pages back.

On the website these birds are listed as Harlequin or Red Splash Pekins. I don't know if this color exists in Orpingtons?

The Red Splash could not be found in the latest copy of the American Poultry Standard, but this colour is known as "Butcher's Apron" or "Harlequin" by the American Game breeders. American Game,a fighting fowl,is not governed by the APA. Pekins are known as Cochins in the US,so Red Splash could be an informal, non Standard, colour of these birds.

Question:
Is this colour commonly phenotypically called a harlequin?
Answer:
No, it is a Pekin hobby name, in American Game it's called Butcher's Apron.

Question:
In my head the term harlequin implies mottling .
Answer:
Harlequin is a Black & White mottling in Pit & other Games.
