So was out looking at my kids and saw one has feathers on the legs, yes they are 100% English so do I keep her ? My friend said no send her down the road.

i don't have any motteled ladys so i will be trying hime over blue and black hens all F1 will be blue and black but will be split to motteled so by breeding them back to him i will hatch some molleted and blue motteled F2 chicks can't wait

This is my plan too, I really, really cannot wait to work on Blue Mottled birds!

ETA: Put me on your list for hatching eggs too.

I don't know what others say, but I am assuming 'cull' her out since you don't want feathered legs in your Orps.
If you do... I am looking for feather legged Chocolates. I am working on a Cochin project and that helps me out.

Hi Jeremy , Thanks! Actually I think the color is quite normal for chocolate roosters. I have seen it only on mature cocks. He is a couple months older than the roo in my other picture.

Actually I should have said quite common but maybe not standard? Does anyone know the standards. This my first generation.....

Guess I need to find these things out now.

The red leakage in chocolate orpingtons is not quite common, it happens once and a while. You should not use these roosters for breeding purposes only the ones that don't show the red leakage. This is my humble opinion.

Chocolate dilutes the color black, so what you have on a bird like that is red leakage.
