I cant find the original post about the powdered milk. Can some tell me what it is supposed to help with.I use poulin feed.. and it has a natural MOS in it.... what ever that is. but between that and the powdered milk... I don't have any poop problems. I think the BIGGEST thing that should be addressed is cleanliness. Keep their dispensers clean and filled with fresh food and water daily. Keep the litter turned and replaced when it is too soiled....I sprinkle poultry dust around every time I put in new litter.. I worm and debug my birds twice a yr. I realize this method won't stop viruses and such.. but it does give them a better chance at a healthy life.
OH almost forgot.... I muck out the yards after every winter...If you have access to sand.... then put a fresh layer of it in their yard after you muck it out.. This will cut way back on parasites.![]()
its best to use regular milk, powdered milk doesnt have the whey , an important ingrediant..30 chickens will consume a gallon a day..if you want protien out of your birds, you need to put some in..there are a lot of reasons why farmers feed it, table birds often given corn and milk to get table ready.mostly used in winter as there should be buggs a pleanty in summer. i think they use just as a protien boost..ive never heard of anything else.I cant find the original post about the powdered milk. Has nothing to do with protein. This has been my own experience.
