I still think it would have been a better for whoever won to get a juvenile pair. If they get a 50% hatch and half are roosters that means they could very likely end up with one hen and 2 roosters or all three be rooster or all three be hens. For what they paid they could get an older pair and start hatching their own eggs in 3 to 4 months...
Very happy for the seller though. He already paid for his pair from GFF with the first batch of eggs...
 
While I don't have any of these lovely birds... I would like to shed light on the fact your chances of bringing marecks home to your flock is greatly reduced when you buy hatching eggs! There is no cure to date!... The shot will only keep that chick from dying from it.. doesn't stop it from being a carrier to your flock. So there are pros and cons... I am a believer in great things come to those who wait. Yes I struggle with waiting too..

Does anyone know if Legbars have a higher tolerance to Marecks like some other chickens do?
 
i think its silly paying that much for eggs when the chances are they might not even hatch, they should just make some friends in england and get them to ship some alot cheaper or get chicks
