The Legbar Thread!

Thanks for all the critique!
I don't plan on showing or breeding to standard, however, I do think he is a very good looking bird so I thought I would post the pic and get some of your opinions.
He is my lone CL roo. He has a slight crest. I have him to breed to my 4 CL hens. 2 hens are nicely crested and already laying and then 2 more that are not old enough to lay yet. The younger hens are very light in color and non-crested. Can hardly wait until I get to set some eggs!

Check out this cutie pie

I think I love my Whites more than my Creams

It makes me think of unicorns, in a way. She's a Cream Legbar purified.

One of my show line leghorn hens decided to venture into the deep snow so before I grabbed her, I took some pics. For me, this is my ideal looking type, maybe a little longer back would be nice but the tail is what I love. You'll have to excuse her condition, the rooster she is with is very 'active' to put it one way. She is one of the birds going into my better bodied legbar project. Imagine this hen with the normal legbar coloring, a tassel, and maybe a longer back, that is my ideal looking legbar. Maybe some day I'll have bred that bird and it may or may not have a rose comb. Now, on my next day off I'll mess with the pic and make it look more legbar like just so I have a visual of what to breed for for my own personal flock.

Very nice! I agree, with a little longer back she would be about perfect for type in a Legbar.

Gorgeous hen Michael! Do you have any drawings of your ideal Legbar shape? I remember you working on photo overlay type shapes a while back.
