The Legbar Thread!

None of the breeds in there ancestry would have had to been feather legged. It is caused by a recessive gene and occurs quite often in most any breed if you hatch enough of them.

Thanks for the info- I had no idea. I just thought it was very strange! Glad to see it straighten out since Cream legbars are not normally feathered legged, lol.

I'm on a rooster hatching rampage! It's driving me crazy! I swear I get 3 roosters to a pullet.... 2 more yesterday and since I messed up that"ll probably be it for this week. Hopefully next weeks batch will be different. Gonna put the Chocolate Orps outside this weekend and I did luck out - looks like 1 boy n 3 girls. And sold off the lavender ameraucanas yesterday and switching to jubilee orps instead... hubby won't know what hit him Legbars n Marans n Orps. Sooooooo looking forward to this summer!

Have been wanting Legbars really bad!!!! But, Greenfire's prices made me hesitant.......went last Saturday, to pick up some Lemon Cuckoo Orpingtons and Isbars from Richard at Jordan Farms and he gave me a Legbar Roo!!!! Isn't he gorgeous?? His name is Lightening.
