Cotton Patch are at the top of my list, but the cost and wait makes it an unlikely prospect. I've seen someone on craigslist in Pleasant View, TN advertising that they will put you on their wait list for goslings at $40 each. Since I've never had geese before, I'd like to spend a less just to see how they work out for us.

I'm not sure if they are open anymore. If memory serves they had a pretty bad fire.

They are open. Advertising on CL and mentioned the fire.

Anyone by chance raising Saxony or Silver Appleyard ducks and have fertile eggs for sale for hatching? I'd love to buy some. Not a huge amount or anything. Like 6 of them.

I'll generally put mine out at about three weeks but never before middle to end of April.

So, you think it's still too cold? We were considering putting them out during the day and back in at night. They are 3 weeks old today.

I take the better safe than sorry approach. If they're fully feathered you can take that approach, but we can have some wicked weather swings this time of year. Same with fall. I've only been here 3 years or so, but I've seen the forecast low of 40 and woke up to 16 on more than one occasion.

Southern Middle to cold for chicks imo. Maybe let them have some mid day outside time but with this wind its rough.
