The most exciting morning ever... hatching any day now... anyone else?

I had never thought of it that way! Yay!

Just thought I'd congratulate you on getting Grandchicks!
When eggs in my incubators hatch, that makes me the mommy. Chicks hatched by broody hens make me a grandmother.

From broody Cubalayas (not sitting on their own eggs).. I have two chicks hatched today.. I don't candle so I have two eggs left in her nest to wait and see. Cubie is on her first hatch and is a serious protector.
And, her sister is sitting on eggs that will hatch next week. Laya is on her second hatch, and let's me "mess with her" more.

Congratulations on your babies, grandbabies... it is so sweet to watch mama's with baby chicks.

One of the cold eggs hatched and the other hasn't but the mum have begun to leave to feed the chicks so I disposed of the last one... Not bad out of 3 knocked out, one was warm and the other 2 freezing cold!!! 14 chirping chicks!

Is one of them the egg that got cold?

Congratulations! I have some more due on Saturday and then 2 weeks today (incubator and broody due the same day) and I just bought a broody hen home about an hour ago. She is sitting already... Not sure if I should give her some golfballs and keep her sitting to surrogate the incubator eggs, or get a dozen pekins... I bought her to surrogate, but I think I might get some pekin eggs!!!

MINE HATCHED TODAY! 1 1/2 DAYS EARLY!! Those Sizzles!! Got 3 out of 6 so far... on my first try no less! Hope I can keep it up!!
