The Old Folks Home

How about, "in the cracks between the bricks in the sidewalk, where you have to choose between zigging and zagging to avoid them, or stepping on them?"

You just step on them! Serves them right for not respecting your space

Ha ha, parents gotta do, what parents gotta do.! You know the parental curse that goes with it. "May you have kids some day, just like YOU!" My one wild niece has a grown daughter just like her. Payback!

My brother once kicked a hole in the bathroom door - he was tired of waiting - 6 of us with only 1 bathroom. As I recall he wasn't yelled at

. Different rules for a son I guess.

It was a hollow door so no feat(feet) of strength

Sorry Alaskan, I'm not much on fruit either, except mandarin orange, pears, bananas for medicinal purposes only, nothing tart or fuzzy . Definitely have never eaten a flower, or even thought about it. Oh, I do love bread and will eat it one slice after another, even without butter or anything on it. I have started to eat full grain bread with seeds & weird things in it, because it's supposed to be healthy.

I love meat, chicken, turkey, Idaho potatoes, will eat small green peas, pork & beans, sometimes canned tuna, if there isn't anything else. A couple times I had half duck with orange sauce. It was pre made and just heat and eat. Wow I used to love that. That last time I had one (many years ago) I got dizzy spells and felt sickly. I think it was either a bad duck or poisoned one. I never tried that again.

I eat nuts, that's supposed to be healthy but, I think a 16 oz. bag should probably last more than 2 days. Love popcorn but teeth don't.

I know TMI - sorry. I've been very distracted. The grocery store is having Magnum ice cream bars for $ 2.50 (pkg. of 3 skimpy ones) and I have 5 coupons for 75 cents off. Of course I am concerned that they will be sold out and I will have to get a rain check. I will be back tomorrow to tell you how that goes.

I overdid it a bit yesterday.

I hauled a bunch of dirt and planted my onion seedlings in their planters. Then I transplanted my 20 tomato plants to larger containers and moved them up the hill to the cold frame I have.

Then I hoed the garden. I was going to plant the garden but then BF got home and I needed his truck for another chore and I wasn't sure if he'd have to go back to work or not, so I hauled a (cut up tree) up to the house and then split it. Last time I hauled it 3 pieces at a time in the back of my Suzuki. This time it was one trip and filled the bed of his full size truck. Saved me a ton of time.

Then I did all the animal chores.

Woke up at 4, took some naproxen and acetaminophen, and laid back down in bed. Thankfully I feel much better now. But I think I'm going to not set up the garden and plant it today with the cold stuff (the last big chore I have to do) and instead spend the day cleaning up the house and sewing. I'm not sure I should be hauling, digging and thrusting today.

It sounds like you have been very productive, SCG.

Lately, I have had a hard time getting things done around here and I'm way behind. I have a stack of plants against an outside wall that I bought but have been watering daily instead of planting. Between working every Saturday, Bronchitis, rain, hoards of chicks, and heat, it just hasn't happened.

I did get some banana sprouts from a friend at work, though, and set them out one night ... after dark ... by feel. They are doing well!

Yesterday I did coop chores, dusted my chickens, helped dh set new gate posts, dd came over with the kids. It seems like a very short list of things, but by 10:00 last night, dh and I were both tired, and achy. Keeping up with all the grandkids is harder work than any actual chores. They wear us out.
