I have a backyard skunk that walks on the outdoor basement window ledge ,while I am on BYC , some nights.

Funny...but th e stink induced headaches would make me grumpy.

I've gotten a bit carried away but this has ended up being very carthartic for me.

No, you're not. The last thing that I "enjoyed" him in was probably Top Gun, with the minor asterisk exception of his cameo in Tropic Thunder where they made him into a bald, potbellied, angry old man.

I didn't see that one, funny thinking about a fat Tom. :) I did kind of like the mission impossible movies.

All of this chiseling etc, does that mean your knee is at 100%? Or close?

I have a hard time wanting to watch anything with Tom Cruise in it, he's such a weirdo, shame, he's a good actor. I think Jerry Maguire was last one I watched.
Pretty funny how many people I've seen get fooled into liking and reposting this pic on Facebook. IDK maybe they never saw Tropic Thunder, still cracks me up though.

Well, I got it dug out and got the stone out with a helper and got the front of the concrete mess out. I had to get the boys and the tripod to get the back of the concrete slab out.

Out of order, but we got this massive one out last night to level it... that should be fun, the base is 6 inches deeper on one side.

The boys got these out - they were leaning forward against the fence. They cleaned them and I repinned and remortared them yesterday with the help of the tripod. Please note that I did not whack my head or get tangled up in the tripod or the fence. Win!

Ok, back to my concrete mess that we pulled out of my hole. Oh, guess what's embedded in it? Yeup, the top of the stone. ARGHHHHH who does things like this? Grab the hammer and chisel, some earplugs and about 10 hours...

Yes, I did it. That entire top was engulfed in concrete.

This was the front of the concrete hell in my hole. They poured a front and a back and then put the stone in.

There is no answer but omg...why would someone put the pieces in the base. Keep them together in a bag...set them a the base of the headstone...DON'T put them in the base! :barnie:he I don't understand that at all.

That's SO much hard work. That's beyond commendable what you're doing there.:bow

Mostly platinum. Not all are worth a lot but most are. Scrap yards know which ones they are just by looking at them. I got $80 for a small one off our dodge stratus. Some are only $10- $30. Heck even old dead car batteries are worth taking there for the lead. $10 or more depending on the size/weight, only get $5 for them on trade in when you buy a new one.
Wish I knew converters were valuable yrs ago, I've thrown away or gutted many unaware.
A sure thing if a person knows their stuff. Interesting! We sell our batteries too. We also found a place that takes them and gives more than the $5 refund. Equipment batteries bring more. I think we got $145 last time we brought some in. That sure makes a person's day! :woot

It keeps getting shared on Facebook as "brave Vietnam soldiers" Ben Stiller lol!
I don't think Cruise was in Saving Private Ryan.
 
Seen on the news a while back California is experiencing another gold rush, all the rain and runoff this spring stirred some chunks up.
@ronott1 have you had your pan out?
On my Mom's side of the family, the Pingres came to California in 1848, just before the gold rush. They did not come for Gold but raised Sheep. That is a much better life than the the "Gold Fever" life.
Still..It might be time for a trip to the American River!

Thank you everyone for your kind words. :hugs Writing this helped bring me perspective. I apologize it turned into such a long post. I know we're not the only ones who have had hardships. I think everyone on this thread has had their fair share. Some of you have had to give up so much. I think that's harder. Maybe this is this is why we get along so well and enjoy each other's company. :)

I didn't realize Tom Cruise was such a hot topic...lol. I don't mind him either way. He brings people to the box office...so I guess that's why he's so popular. I don't think he has as much diversity as he should in the different roles...but you know what you're going to see. I still like Mark Walberg...and he's somewhat the same way...lol.

I miss having the original cast on The Mummy, even though I haven't seen it yet. But I don't like when they replace the original cast on anything...lol.

Just don't put Tropic Thunder anywhere near me. That is the one movie I'll never watch again. In my opinion it's so terrible...I don't know why we didn't walk out. Total waste of my time. It's the only movie I feel that strongly about...lol. :confused:
