The Old Folks Home

I would have done away with our landline years ago, except it's included in the package we get, (cable, internet, and phone) and cheaper to keep it. It's hooked into our fax machine, so we never give the number out except for those faxing us.
We have 2 options for internet - DSL with the land line and satellite. So even if we did have cell service, we'd have the land line and DSL.

Congratulations, @CapricornFarm! Beautiful baby girl (think it's a girl. Thought I saw a hint of pink on that cap) I just love it when they are new and fresh from the oven.

Hope mom is doing well and dad has recovered from the ordeal. Of course babies are a sign that God wants the world to go on at least for awhile longer.

As for phones. We live in a dead zone. The non contract phones won't work where we live. We have exactly two providers to choose from that can provide service to our area...marginally. Verizon and US Cellular. We are currently with Verizon who can provide service that operates through our wifi, boosting our signal.

One of the reasons we became HAM radio operators. Somebody is always monitoring the 2 meter frequencies and it's government funded so outside of providing our own radios and antennas, pass the test to become licensed it's 100% free to use and Uncle Sam pays to have the repeaters (think relays) put up on the cell towers,

We mainly have a cell phone to use to make or cancel appointments and to use while on the road. They hate seeing us come in. We always want the cheapest smart phone they have.

The word for today is rain. Followed my more rain. Oh, and thunder and lightening and flooding. Tis spring in Missouri! FInally!

The property across the driveway was for sale. 15 acres, and a huge home loaded with lots of extras. He was asking 1.4 million for it. No takers. He then subdivided the land, and was offering the house, and 5 acres for 600 thousand. He decided he would sell the rest in 2.5 acre lots. No takers. He then lowered it to the house and 4 acres for 500 thousand. No takers. He then lowered it to 460 thousand. Finally he got down to 390,000.00. When it sat long enough, and he got it down to a fair price, someone bought the whole thing. They got the house, and all 15 acres. Dh went and met the new owners. The man, and his brothers began flipping homes years ago, and ended up getting their contractor's licenses. They build, and remodel homes. He bought the whole thing, and is building a barn on the property for his horses. They seem pretty nice. They've got kids. At lest one of the boys is a young teen, but they have a couple younger daughters. Maybe playmates for at least one of my granddaughters. We are so glad they got the whole thing, and we don't have to worry about multiple neighbors.

I hope they will be good neighbors for you!

Morning all starting the day kinda slow denturist is taking a trip so not new denture till around the 10th or later :hitbut life goes on
I was in the Dentist chair from 3 to 5:30 on Friday.

Now I have to wait until May 23 to get the Permanent on on the tooth that was broken in January. That will be almost 6 months

Has it been painful this entire 6 months?
Not really painful but it could have broken more at any time. It was one of those teeth filled with amalgam which has mercury in it. I do not know if it was leaking due to being exposed. Happily it was the last one of that type of filling left.

With the broken teeth, I could not chew food very well.
