The Old Folks Home

Ok, I miss ONE day and you guys have so many threads going at once I got a headache trying to sort out who was talking about what!

Let's see if I got this right;

there is another screwed up farm bill
someone is starting a gourmet canned roadkill and/or squirrel business with Diva on the label
a bunch of people either did or didn't eat out as kids
somebody is thinking of having bbq'd Pit Bull
Bamadude hit Bingo!!!

Is that about right?

All I have to say is that if my mother had ever lost her can opener I would have starved to death so I was very grateful for school hot lunch and take out burgers!!!
(oh and my Granny and her wonderful home cooking)

When I was a little kid in the '50's the newest thing was instant rice, potatoes, TV dinners. So I mostly had things out of a can or a box. Everybody was thrilled at the time saving. So I didn't learn to cook or bake. Never from scratch.

Love me some Python! Especially the TV show....

"He's not dead. This parrot is pining for the Fjords." (paraphrase there)

The first time I ever heard this bit, I was working at a pet shop (in college.) It owned me then, it owns me now.......

"Bee Ute tifull plumage!"

"He was just waking up and you stunned him!"

...on another note.....

canned squirrel - you could develop that into a niche business!

Free range, organic canned squirrel! From my forest to your table!

Oh man! I loved all of those: Coneheads, Monty Python and Princess Bride! I have my father to thank for a lot of the older comedy, especially the English comedy. Love their sense of humor!

"But it's just a bunny!"

"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means...."

And you guys have definitely said some of my favorite lines! I love the dead parrot scene! One of my favorites!
