The Old Folks Home

In case I don't get back to the usual threads ,I have eleventy -eleven or so more to answer in the New Members introduction thread. Business is picking up again, for awhile it was so slow, I could do it in my sleep. Once we get near Easter - everyone decides to sign up.

I'm getting too old for this. Just want to hibernate under a pile of blankets - yes!

So probably good-night to all my buddies on here and everywhere. I

time to vent

I just had a white missionary merkan appear at the farm saying he knows me and he is here for a tour. My wife, contacted me and bollocked me out for not telling her. She let him in.

His definition of know - he sent me three messages on facebook. A friend request sent Christmas day that I did not answer because of the internet and my general apathy for facebook. Then he sent 2 messages while I was flying to LA saying he was going to be in the area and wanted to come by.

It took a few minutes for me to get the message - she then threw him out

Yeah, maybe it's a good idea to arrange something like that in advance. Dropping by is fine - if you've known someone for years, but that just sounds very rude (and like a stereotypical American tourist from movies - the kind that orders a salad Nicoise with bacon bits and ranch dressing)

after Mrs Oz said to him that he had to leave he slipped in the missionary card. by that stage my wife would have booted the pope himself

he finished with how much are your chickens?

mozza, who follows bernie around like a puppy, made them nervous as saw bernie and ran towards them. they jumped in the car pretty fast lol

@getaclue - y'all would be recognized by your usernames and be welcomed with open arms - even bama

I would hazard there are many many types of ppl online and you never know what mental state some may or may not be.. Sometimes also ppl get a false sense of "knowing" someone from information shared or read or seen. you don't know what sense of reality they might or might not have.. perhaps you only knew of that person with the brief contact you had received from them, though they obviously knew enough of you to show up at your home ect ect ect...thats not even the ppl who might be crooks or whatever...errg just trying to say maybe in that persons mind y'all were the best of buds

and I am glad you, your wife and everyone is safe and sound

Oz, if bama went to visit you, we'd all have to go help you build a chicken jail for him. LOL! Sorry to hear about those children. Yes, keep your kids away from the beach until the waters calm back down. Never go to the beach right before, or after a storm. Teach them not to swim towards shore if they ever get caught by an undertow. Instead, swim parallel to the shore until they are out of the undertow, then swim towards shore. Glad you didn't sustain too much damage from the storm. There's usually some clean up to do after a big storm, even if there is no damage.
