The Old Folks Home

Welcome to all newcomers! It's been a while since I've been on. Still recovering from the freeze here. I'm going through a complete realignment of our fruit production. We lost 21 of 22 citrus trees so we're switching types of crops. And please no body send me any more rain for the time being. In the past week we've had 31 1/4 inches of rain. Only good thing about that is tomato and pepper production is gonna be crazy good!
Oh man, super sucks....

So.... what are you switching to?

And,nice to see you drop in. :frow

Waving howdy to all the newcomers and returnees.. Whoever said we are all coping with some malady or another... well.. keep on coping. Took a cake to Advanced EMS today as a thank you gift. Nobody was there but the door was unlocked. Left it with a poorly scribbled note. Fine motor control of right hand still sucks but it's better. :ya Also picked up hinged to put the door of the new turnout pen up. Found snake deterrent to put around the pens. Oh, and was able to crank up the mower (easy pull) and do around the pens.. that was the easiest part..Mower acted like a walker and made it easy to walk. 30 minutes of exercise.. then an hour of rest. I will beat this thing!!

That is just tragic, JD. I'm so sorry. Keeping fruit trees isn't for the faint of heart. We lost 4 of 5 Asian pear trees to Fire Blight within two years of planting them and 4 apple trees to the same thing. We replanted with blight resistant, heirloom type fruit trees. We learned the hard way that the more genetic manipulation the put into stuff to make hybrids, the bigger your chance of losing them.

What's that old saying? The more complicated the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the toilet?

I think you have been sending all the rain we have been having north to Missouri? Just had to share, didn't you?:lau

But seriously. Did you loose your trees in that disastrous freeze that you had down there over the winter?

Shopping cart to hang on to will help you also. Do you have access to one of these little dudes to help you ambulate around:

I just finished reading an article about my degenerative disc disease and they recommend these simply because you are leaning at an angle that causes the pressure to be taken off of your spine.

I fully intend to get one some time in the future.
