Chick pics! These guys are Marans x ameraucauna, both from Secret Hills Ranch in Alpine, CA, both 4 weeks old. I'm pretty sure the blue is a cockerel and the black is a pullet. Any thoughts?

Too soon to say.
Blue looks to be straight combed..... blacks comb - not sure, doesn't look like pea combed.

It's fun(kinda) to keep guessing tho

Black's comb... it's not exactly a pea comb (no three rows of spots), and it's got a big smooshed spot at the back, a concave indentation. I'm curious to see how it grows out; it'll probably be a blobby mess.

Blue has a beautiful straight comb in a deep mahogany/black.

Black got cheeks, feathered feet, and an unusual comb.
Blue got clean cheeks, clean feet, a straight comb - and GORGEOUS coloring.

Genetics are weird.

Both birds are from this cross: [wheaten Ameraucauna x blue Marans] rooster X [blue Marans x blue Ameraucauna] hen

I hatched out the first OE today!

It is an Arkansas Blue x Partridge Penedesenca. The other two Yellow with black chicks are Pita Pinta chicks.

U must be seeing the tail she is already 3months old and hasas no charteristics of a rooster comb small and pink implus u must not no much there born with there spurs ill be fine with my hen ok

Well I guess in your eyes all these are roosters
