I'm in a picture sharing mood! These are some of the animals that share our farm with the chickens.

This is my quarter horse mare, Blaze. She's a feisty girl that runs the show around here, and she's also Bobby's "seeing eye horse" - she takes care of him.

This is our blind paint gelding, Bobby. Bobby was adopted from the Kentucky Horse Park Rescue. He is the gentlest horse in the world, very affectionate and so trusting it humbles you. He was a stallion the first 5 years of his life, used as a teaser at a nurse mare farm. He is just amazing to me, and endears himself to everyone he meets.

This is Trigger, our feisty pony gelding. This is his wooly winter pic. In the summer he's a GORGEOUS dark gray dapple with a flaxen mane and tail. We call it his "Tina Turner" hairstyle. His special skills include unlocking gates and breaking into barns.

This is our Australian Shepherd, Toby. I've had him for 12 years - best dog in the world. He LOVES sticks...

We have two wiener dogs - Owen
    [IMG]

.....and Rudy Roo. They are quite the entertaining duo, to say the least. And the hot dog jokes never end around here!

These are our new Lionhead bunnies - Oreo
    [IMG]

...and Bugsy. I really need better pics of these guys...

And one of our barn kitties, Double. He and his identical brother, Trouble, were our first barn kitties.

Love seeing your critters! Reminds me what I'm saving up for; land, and content animals and people. Bobby is too sweet.

Quote:We saved and sacrificed for 12 years to get this farm - and it has been well worth the wait. The biggest enjoyment for me is that our son has 75 acres to romp and investigate and conduct adventures on. And while my husband doesn't understand my love for animals, I get a lot of satisfaction in being able to give a horse like Bobby a place to live out his life in safety and security. He's a lesson in compassion and overwhelming obstacles to me.

I'd had Bobby for a month, and he'd been pleasant to me but a little distant. Then one day he walked up to me, lowered his head, and brushed it gently back and forth against my shoulder. In an instant I fell in love with him, and we've been best friends ever since. While he loves a good rub and scratch (what horse doesn't?), his favorite is to have the lightest of caresses all over his head, throat and chin, as though you're barely touching him. He just becomes one giant limp noodle. And he's absolutely delighted when my son rides Trigger, because then Austin is at the perfect height to pet his head and neck. So you'll see my son astride his pony, with Bobby walking as close to Triggers side as he can, with his head laying on Austins shoulder, bobbing with each step. FUNNY! I think I need a pic of that too...

What a nice family you have there! Very lovely photos. They all have great names, too. Your son sounds like a wonderful boy.

I can't wait til I can post pics I have a few new members to my menagerie so we're up to 5 and a half rabbits a ball python and 2 crested geckos with the incoming chickens, turkeys and goats! The horses do look absolutely amazing and I love that yall have a rescue. I miss my old gelding he was a QH Arab and misc. cross palamino appy colored golden body with white spots all over and a cream mane and tail. Got him from a man that had him in a small pen with only dirt and we couldn't even tell what color he was at first from all the dirt and mud and cuts from the other horses fighting him. Will post pictures when I can. [IMG]
