I had a bunch when I was a teenager, but tragedy struck and I lost them all in the same day. I won't get into it, cause it was sad, unexpected, and waaaay in the past. I haven't owned any since, but I do have an absurd amount of love for crested breeds. Honestly any breed with some kind of quirk that sets them apart from the rest of chickendom. I'm currently working on a 'fancy flock' of Houdans, Crevecouers, and Sultans. I've got two of those breeds, now I'm just waiting on my Sultans!
Sorry about your chickens...

Good luck on your fancy flock- throw some silkies into the mix!

I currently only have one. This is Peabody, at 5.5 weeks. No mohawk on my little one, more like a Gregorian Monk - feathers all around EXCEPT the crown šŸ¤ŖšŸ™„ But Peabody is a whole classification of mood. Still no idea of sex or class. Looking a bit on the splash side on the front, though. Although I do love my Welsummers, Amberlinks & Delaware girls, I am kind of sad that Peabody was the last Polish in the bin....I never imagined I'd ever have a favorite until now. 🄰

Oooh.. tell me about the sultans when you get them! As you can see from above, I have house chickens... and it sounds like they are also very quiet (allegedly) and mellow enough to be caged. But I haven't found anyone that actually has them to ask!

About three months now!
Oooh that makes me hopeful that you have a little girl there.. I haven't had a mature polish to say for sure though... but my itty bitty polish I just rehomed had wattles that same size at 3 weeks. I had to rehome regardless though, so I am not positive even that was a sign.

Aww why did you have to rehome? I'm really hoping we have a girl. If we do then great! If we dont... I would have to fight my dad to not kill it...
