Thankyou he’s a chick from my last breeding male and I’d keep him but I don’t have space.

I’m hoping to keep the partridge cockerel for a few more months at least.

I would love to have him but I only have whites so he would never be bred from because his chicks would be non standard. Better he go to a home where he can be appreciated fully! ❤

His father was a recessive white so he holds a copy of the recessive white gene (or should at least) so if bred to another recessive white hen he will produce pure white babies! (Or gold if bred to a gold).

I breed white males to partridge and gold hens I get either white, partridge or gold luckily!

That being said, you wouldn’t want to breed a bearded to a non bearded if showing

I somehow managed to achieve a beautiful bearded pullet from breeding a non bearded to a partially bearded. Looking into the genetics it can happen but from my experience is rare and not worth it.

I want this cockerel to go to someone that will genuinely use him and appreciate him like you say but a lot of people expect them for nothing I’m not asking a lot either

I know how you feel . People think that when you say "I have a silkie who needs a new home" it means I will drive to him to you and for free! It costs a lot to feed chickens of any verity! He is worth at least £20-30 looking at him and the quality. Hope you find him a lovely home with lots of hens to keep him busy .

I mean, if I absolutely know they are going to someone I know has genuine intentions I’d be happy for him to go but you can’t trust some people these days.

Honestly you look forward to it but when the time comes you keep looking through them all like “hmm well should I keep that one, or maybe that one, or how about that one” Then when you see them go you are happy but then you don’t want to let them go!

When I start hatching again, I’ll most likely sell them as trios rather than single but I’ll have to see how it goes.

I’m looking forward to seeing what you have hatch! Still no fertiles from them?
