Well they do at my place anyway... I hardly have any eggs for incubating at the moment.

I can REALLY hear that voice now.
I have FOUR broody chickens and another one thinking about it. I have two on the one nest sitting on five eggs then another sitting on no eggs, I am going to buy some australorp eggs fo her to sit on so It is easier for me to sell them.
I think I will candle chicken josephine's eggs and chuck out any bad ones. 5 days to go for chicken josephine.

Should I say congratulations on all the broodies, or should I say I'm sorry you have all those broodies?

well I candled chicken josephines eggs tonight and out of the eleven, six were good, two died around day five and the other three either didn't start developing or died on day one or two. I guess six is a good number though. I won't be able to keep any of the ones that all these broody's hatch out because we don't have any more room in the coops and the chicks will be a cross anyway.

I also candled the eggs I have under my second broody and out of the five, three looked good, one I am unsure about and one looks strange like there could be two in there, but the egg isn't very big so I don't know.
