C is for cookie....

I've got one neighbor who's gone 90% of the time for work. All his jobs are out of state. No one likes to live by me I guess

Could it be all the crazy teenagers?? naw

I immediately thought of Mr. Rogers. Also, I have a 3 year old who loves the Rubber Ducky song and has a rubber duck collection. She's been collecting for a whole...3 years.

For neighbors, we have some unfriendly people from the north that just moved in--a recently divorced lady and her two college age sons. I think they might have called the city to complain about my chickens, because a week after they moved in I got a visit from the city code enforcement people. (That was yesterday.)

Across the street we have several normal friendly neighbors. Down the street we had a crazy cat lady, but she moved last year and left behind a gang of feral cats and her house is still vacant and reeks outside like cat poo.

Behind me I have a very old couple who also owns a 200 acre farm out of town. The man and his sons and grandsons go bow and arrow hunting and bring back all kinds of stuff. Last fall they got a bear, with their bow and arrow, and they ate it. (Not sure that's legal, but at least they killed it on their own land and for food.) Recently they've offered to share turtle soup with me. They also love gardening and give me tips and love to share their produce. And the man knows a lot about fowl. He showed me how to build a cooler incubator. They like to sit out and watch my chickens and my ducks. The man gets this far away happy look in his eye. They are my favorite neighbors EVER. They have this huge area of grapes in their yard, and they told me the main root has been passed through their family for 200 years! Someone brought it here on a boat when they came to America. How cool is that?

My city kids love it out here generally and I won't see them for a good part of the day while they walk the woods and the road, ride bikes and stuff.
