They're on the way! Brooder is ready.

Dip each of their beaks in the water when you get home. You will have to put them under the mhp and possibly cover up a side with your hands until they feel the warmth and stay under on their own.

I hope you have a good vacuum cleaner that room is going to be covered with dust by the time you're ready to move the chicks. Just saying.

THEY ARRIVED!

All 12 alive and looking healthy. Everyone got a beak dunk, then put under the MHP. They came right back out and got a drink. Gave them some time to drink and set the under MHP and they have settled down and are quiet. A couple even nibbled at the food!

I have to figure out who's what: I got 2 Rhode Island Reds, 2 Australorps, 2 Plymouth Barred Rock (a hen and roster), a Buckeye, a Golden laced Wyandotte, a Dominique, an ISA brown, and a Jersey Giant!

I usually spread some crumbles around on the pads for the first day or two until they figure out what food is and where the feeder is. Their instinct is to peck at specks on the ground. Its important they start eating right away.

Good luck with your peeps!
