Things you wish you could say

GLASS STOVE?
I don't think we'd have a stove if ours was glass.
On the flat-top electric stoves that became popular some time ago, that flat surface is glass.

They don't seem to break too often (a sample size of two households over several years has not had one break, and I haven't heard it mentioned in casual conversation with other people.)

Next time I have to clean the stove after you guys cook mac n cheese for a snack, the kitchen is going to be off limits for a week and y'all are going to be eating cold cereal.
I'm picturing a pot boiling over with starchy noodle water, which then cements itself to the heating element. Followed by a fine dusting of cheese powder over every surface. Finish with a single macaroni noodle, artfully arranged on the stovetop, a smearing of cheese sauce brushed lightly over the top.

👌

That might last.

Still, I think I'd rather not risk it. Siblings are unpredictable.
You seriously thought it was regular glass? Like, window glass? Glass stove tops have been around longer than you and I know of no one who has had them break. You do know the oven door window is glass, right?

I thought he thought the whole stove was glass .
Note "glass stove" not "glass top stove"
And for what it's worth I have cracked one dropping a hot pan on it.

I mean, if the siblings were wielding hammers... you never know, some kids are wild!
